Our next gathering will be at Bob and Raisa’s house in West Bath around mid-July. Look for date and time on the chapter’s website at https://ffrfmaine.org/category/news/. Bob and Raisa are great people to know. Raisa, an architect, designed the additions to the house and created space that is warm, friendly and inviting. In short, a great place to have a cookout with friendly people.
To make communication easier (we have over 160 people on our three mailing lists) and to insure we are not sending out emails to people who no longer want to get them, we will be using our website to post notices. Besides notices, the main website, https://ffrfmaine.org/, has menu tabs on the Good News Club, Videos, a place to Report Violations, the complete list of the monthly column “In Reason We Trust” I write for the Kennebec Journal / Morning Sentinel and a section I call AC Cartoons (Atheist Correct not PC).
To stay up to date with what the chapter is doing, go to https://ffrfmaine.org/, on the left hand menu column, enter your email address in the space provided and click on “Follow FFRF Maine” just below it. You will get an email to confirm your subscription. Now you will receive an email whenever something new is posted to the website. It’s a great way to keep in touch with what your chapter is doing.
The other two ways to keep in touch with the chapter is through our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/FFRFMaine or on our You Tube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrCimRom4g9zJttHg8-p_pQ. Unfortunately the home page says the channel has no content but click on “Videos” and you will see 6 videos posted there.
Our meetings have moved to an “as needed” basis, the same format some other activist or issues oriented Foundation chapters use. We are an activist chapter, not just another social group. The purpose for our meetings is to see who is interested in doing what and to make plans to carry out an action plan. With this new administration there will be no lack of things to do. If you know of a separation violation you would like to work on, let me know. I will see if there is enough chapter interest and set up a meeting.
So look for the cookout notice at Bob and Raisa’s house. We had a cookout there before that was well attended and a lot of fun. They have a very nice house, great location, an expansive back yard and, I think, a tidal river at the edge of their property. It’s not for swimming but it sure is nice to sit next to, relax and listen to the sound of the water.
